Small Business Profile: Kurry Up!
If you regularly commute along Edmonton Trail, you will not have missed the Kurry Up! food truck near the corner of 21st. If the truck isn’t there, they are likely at a community event, like the recent Tuxedo Park Community Centre Family Day event, or catering. The menu is like that of a full Indian restaurant, but on wheels: it ranges from creative meat, to vegetarian, and vegan dishes, and they can even ensure nut-free options.
Chef Jassie Bakhshi (whose face is on the truc...k’s side) has a long history as a chef in Indian and French-Italian cuisine, in restaurants and hotels across North America and in India. It is a family-owned business, the same family that owned Glory of India (Downtown).
I couldn’t get enough of their fish, and they were very friendly. So friendly, they are sharing their famous butter chicken recipe online, here: kurryup.ca/recipes.html
