Gr. 6 School Visits
As the school year comes to a close, so have my school visits. All year I have had the privilege of visiting Gr. 6 classrooms, speaking about the role of an MLA and answering questions about the provincial government.
Grade 6 is the year in which Albertan students learn about provincial government in their curriculum, and I believe it is an important part of my job to be a resource during this time in answering any questions they may have. And boy did they have a lot of thoughtful questions!
School after school, I was continually impressed by students specific questions on government policy and their interest in the inner workings of government. I even met a few students who want to grow up to be Premier!
I look forward to meeting with next crop of Gr. 6 students, and hope the enthusiasm of this years students translates to a lifetime of engagement in our democratic process!
